Year End Post

2008 has been a crazy year. Life was turned upside down a bit as I figured out how to be a single Dad and at the same time merged my consulting business with Management Solutions Plus. I became a CEO of an association for the first time, did enough travel to qualify for elite status on United for only the second time, and in my spare time managed to complete the first draft of a book (coming out in 2010!).

All the while I still managed to blog, though I am sad to report that I failed to "three-peat" as Association Blogger of the Year, as given out by Social Media Zen Master, Ben Martin. While he gave me credit for a "strong year" in his annual "Bloggies" post, Ben gave his Blogger of the year for 2008 to Kevin Holland, and deservedly so. Acronym and the new A-List bloggers also got kudos, and best new blogger went to Frank Fortin, so do go check him out. 

I am looking forward to 2009. 2008 was a great year, but I still felt like I was getting my bearings to some extent. In 2009 I want to leap forward. I want to blog more, and, more importantly, I want to READ more blogs (that has fallen by the wayside in 2008). I want to get more out there. More articles, presentations, ebooks, etc. I want to speak more truth, push people more, stand up more, show up more. With all this "more," I'll need some less in there too. Less time wasted. Less waiting. Less fear, or at least less fear-based paralysis! Less yelling. Less worrying.
